When people think of the Outer Banks, the first name that comes to mind is Nags Head.
Nags Head is famous for its tales of pirates and how they were lured ashore by horses with lanterns tied around their necks. Merchants and pirates alike would mistakenly think the lights were ships closer to shore. They would change course and run a ground, having their valuable cargo pillaged. Nags Head later became known as a great resort and still is to this day with a wealth of activities, world class fishing and shopping.
